xx Consider me Gone
November 04, 2009, 09:59:53 AM by Hoodie Princess
A friend recently sent me this song and told me I should listen to it givin the road things are going down for me...It is more fitting than I ever could have imagined.  So, I just had to share...   UndecidedEmbarrassed

Consider Me Gone ~ Reba

Verse: 1
Every time i turn the conversation to something deeper than the weather I can feel you all but shuttin' down.
And when I need an explanation for the silence you just tell me you don't wanna talk about it now.

Bridge: 1
What you're not saying is coming in loud and clear we're at a crossroads here...

Chorus:
If I'm not the one thing you can't stand to lose
If I'm not that arrow to the heart of you
If you don't get drunk on my kiss
If you think you can do better than this then i guess we're done
Let's not drag this on
Consider me gone

Verse 2:
With you I've always been wide open like a window or an ocean. There is nothing I've ever tried to hide.
So when you leave me not knowin' where you're goin' I start thinkin' that we're lookin', we're lookin' at goodbye.

Bridge 2:
How about a strong shot of honesty.  Don't you owe that to me...

Chorus:
If I'm not the one thing you can't stand to lose
If I'm not that arrow to the heart of you
If you don't get drunk on my kiss
If you think you can do better than this then I guess we're done
Let's not drag this on
Consider me gone.

Consider me a memory.
Consider me the past.
Consider me a smile in an old photograph someone who used to make you laugh.

If I'm not the one thing you can't stand to lose
If I'm not that arrow to the heart of you
Then I guess we're done let's not drag this on.
Consider me gone.
Consider me gone.
Consider me gone.
Just consider me gone.

xx Comin' from where I'm from
November 04, 2009, 08:36:21 AM by chyna
Sitting here, guess I didn' make bail
Got time and a story to tell
Started when I was nine years old
Woke up and daddy was gone
I started hustling and the couldn't tell me nothing
Fronting in the hood, trying to be somebody
My soul was on empty
I was searching for something
Tried to be good
Tried to keep from trouble
Living too fast
Trying to make a good hustle

Sometimes it gets rough
Comin' from where I'm from, I'm from
Times got hard
Comin' from where I'm from, I'm from
Sometimes you gotta walk to work
Comin' from where I'm from, I'm from
Sometimes you gotta do a little dirt
Comin' from where I'm from, I'm from

Wasn' really looking guess I found it
Five foot three light brown skinned
Coming from the university
Lifestyle looking kind of lovely
Didn't know she had much game
Down to ride out, even take the train
Even take her to a poker game
Top notch fried chicken and sushi
Tried to be good
Tried to treat you like a lady
Tried to be your friend
Turned out that you were shady

Sometimes it gets lonely
Comin' from where I'm from, I'm from
Some times ain't what they seem to be
Comin' from where I'm from, I'm from
Some times would get the best of me
Comin' from where I'm from, I'm from

Well, tried to be good (I tried, I tried)
Wanted nothing but to love somebody
Didn't want to die young
Steady hustling trying to feed my family
Too scared to have kids and like daddy did
'Cause I'm so scared of failing
Sometimes it gets hard
Comin' from where I'm from, I'm from

Comin' from where I'm from, I'm from
Sometimes you gotta moan
Comin' from where I'm from, I'm from
Sometimes

xx Alanis Morrisette - Head Over Feet
November 04, 2009, 08:21:47 AM by ~JC~
I had no choice but to hear you
You stated your case time and again
I thought about it

You treat me like I'm a princess
I'm not used to liking that
You ask how my day was

You've already won me over in spite of me
And don't be alarmed if I fall head over feet
Don't be surprised if I love you for all that you are
I couldn't help it
It's all your fault

Your love is thick and it swallowed me whole
You're so much braver than I gave you credit for
That's not lip service

You've already won me over in spite of me
And don't be alarmed if I fall head over feet
Don't be surprised if I love you for all that you are
I couldn't help it
It's all your fault

You are the bearer of unconditional things
You held your breath and the door for me
Thanks for your patience

You're the best listener that I've ever met
You're my best friend
Best friend with benefits
What took me so long

I've never felt this healthy before
I've never wanted something rational
I am aware now
I am aware now

You've already won me over in spite of me
And don't be alarmed if I fall head over feet
Don't be surprised if I love you for all that you are
I couldn't help it
It's all your fault

xx Cowboys
September 13, 2009, 07:27:39 PM by pluscachange
Love this song.

Found the original.

If you want cowboys, then you're going to have to stop trying to be steel clad business women from the 23rd century.  We like soft, feminine, beautiful, strong without trying to compete with us all the time.  Women who can raise a family, and shoot a gun without flinching.  Who can spend an evening with us in the winter before a fire, and a summer watching the children play with us on the front porch, without the damned cell phone.

xx Muskrat Love
September 03, 2009, 01:06:06 PM by Songbird
[I heard this song today in a lobby]

Muskrat, muskrat candlelight
Doin' the town and doin' it right
In the evenin'
It's pretty pleasin'

Muskrat Susie, Muskrat Sam
Do the jitterbug out in muskrat land
And they shimmy
And Sammy's so skinny

And they whirled and they twirled and they tangoed
Singin' and jingin' the jango
Floatin' like the heavens above
It looks like muskrat love

Nibbling on bacon, chewin' on cheese
Sammy says to Susie "Honey, would you please be my missus?"
And she say yes
With her kisses

And now he's ticklin' her fancy
Rubbin' her toes
Muzzle to muzzle, now anything goes
As they wriggle, and Sue starts to giggle

And they whirled and they twirled and they tangoed
Singin' and jingin' the jango
Floatin' like the heavens above
It looks like muskrat love

xx Judge Gently...........so appropriate lately it seems.

Judge Gently
=============

Pray, don't find fault with the man who limps Or stumbles along the
road.
Unless you have worn the shoes he wears
Or struggled beneath his load.

There may be tacks in his shoes that hurt Though hidden away from view.
Or the burden he bears placed on your back Might cause you to stumble
too.

Don't sneer at the man who's down today
Unless you have felt the blow
That caused his fall or felt the shame
That only the fallen know.

You may be strong but still the blows
That was his if dealt to you
In the selfsame way, at the selfsame time Might cause you to stagger
too.

Don't be too harsh with the man who sins Or pelt him with word or stone
Unless you are sure - yea, doubly sure That you have no sins of your
own.

For you know, perhaps,
If the tempter's voice should whisper as soft to you As it did to him
when he went astray It might cause you to falter too.

xx Daughtry

Leave This Town is a great album for anyone who like Chris Daughtry. It's one of my faves and I think it's better than the first album, personally.

Just thought I'd share.  Cheesy

xx Where i'm from
August 05, 2009, 03:45:20 PM by OceanStorm
Jason Michael Carroll Where i'm from

On a three hour flight from Memphis to LA
I was silently celebrating my first class upgrade
Laughing at my jeans and my boots
Beside those high dollar shoes and Armani suits
When the gentleman next to me said the drinks uphere are free
So if you don't mind the first one can be on me
I returning from business in New York and Rome
Tell me son, Where do you call home

I said Im from the front pew of a wooden church
The courthouse clock still dont work
Where a man's word mens everything
Where mons and dads were high school flames
Gave their children grandmothers maiden names
It may not sound like much
But its where I'm from

So we drank that round and then another
Wasn't a topic in the World we did not cover
He said I headed out west when I was barely 19
Just a kid chasing my dreams
I said I'm flying out here to pick up my big brother
He's been fighting that cancer they discovered
He called last night and said I think this is the end
Come take me home to my family and my friends

Where the quaterback dates the homecoming queen
The trucks are ford and tractors green
And amazing Grace is what we sing
Theres a county fair every fall
Your friends are there every time you call
Yeah It may not sound like much but it's
Where I'm from

as we stood to claim the bags we checked
He said I'll pray for your brother and did I mention that
Italian suits aint always been my style
You see I was quarterback of my high school team
We took state back in 63
And my wife is still my home coming queen

Cuz Im from the front pew of a wooden church
The courthouse clock still dont work
Where a man's word means everything
Where moms and dads were high school flames
Gave their children grandmothers maiden names
It may not sound like much
But its where I'm from
I said it may not sound like much but it's
Where Im from
Where I'm from
Where I'm from
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound......

xx Heart Of The Sunrise
July 29, 2009, 09:16:24 PM by pluscachange
A band of classically trained musicians.

I remember standing on Baker Beach (California, San Francisco) in the mid 1980's, walkman on belt, headphones on, listening to this song as the sun rose and fishermen around me threw their lines into the ocean.  The waves crashed and overtook the music at times.  Refreshing breeze, progressive rock and salty mist.
