Re:An unanticipated reaction to other people's divorce Shanna: My reaction is usually more along the lines of a sardonic "Welcome to the club." [quote"> [/quote">

Re:An unanticipated reaction to other people's divorce hollygolightly: Before I was part of the "club," I would just think "Oh, that's sad," and move on. Now when someone tells me they're splitting, I can feel their pain on a deeper level. No one can truly understand the pain of divorce until they experience it.

Re:An unanticipated reaction to other people's divorce ChristyM: I can relate to this. I work for a yacht brokerage company and I had a client the other day and he said "send those papers to my wife to sign in Virginia and then you can fax them to me at my girlfriend's house" ... :o What?!! I said "Did I just hear that right?" and he said "Yes, but it's ok, we're getting divorced and everything is fine. We get along great actually". I then talked to the wife later and she seemed fine with it too. But, why was it that I hung up the phone and felt like crying? It hit me so hard and I have yet to figure out why I was so sad about some people's situation that I don't even know.

Re:An unanticipated reaction to other people's divorce box of rain: I pesonally haven;'t had the experience of hearing about another's divorce yet, but a buddy of mine's daughter just freaked out the other day on the topic. She's in high school, and hasn't dated much, come to find out, since she's seeing so many divorces going on around her, she feels it's inevitable she will follow the same path. She's only 17, and really pretty and well adjusted for a teen. It kills me to see someone that young overwhelmed by something like this already.
