Re:Running for President jen: OMG, BG! That looks rugged!!!! That's quite a challenge you've got set up for yourself, but I'm sure it'll be just amazing.

Never done any races or real running before...I'm a complete beginner - I'm training with a program...we do 2 maintenance runs a week on our own (30 - 45 minutes) and then a group training run. We were up to 14 miles last week, but will do a 7 mile recovery run this coming weekend. We're supposed to cross train on other days, but I haven't been so good about that.

And, don't get me wrong - I do love Yosemite...here are a few pics from last May there...

and, just because I love it...a pic of the ruby mountains at sunrise in Nevada

I would love to bring my pups to Yellowstone...I'm filing that away in the back of my mind...it would be great to meet you, too!

Re:Running for President snowyheart: Bg, yep, it's all about the pack, the tent, and the hike.

That route looks so brutal, omg, I'm just crazy enough to actually try something like that. Is that were Bridger Bowl skiing is?

Scs, Nice pic! Awesome rock formations.

Re:Running for President jen: sunny~

Curious about the fact that you made particular mention of the rock formations...in which picture?

Re:Running for President browngreen: Sunny--
LOL-- Yeah, everyone thinks I'm crazy. But what fun!Views on both sides (I guess it's impossible to pass someone), and it's a total ascent/deccent of 6800 feet!
So,yeah,going to hike it first.
One friend was like "It's not a normal marathon, you know?" and I said"DUH!!!!"
Yeah, it's in the bridgers, the same as bridger bowl!
The pic of the rock formation is none other than the aforementioned halfdome! Quite a bit of granite, wouldn't you say?

SCS-- I'm only running about 10- 12 a week...I'd like to be up to 15by June. Doing 2 short runs aweek and then one long one. I have been good at the cross training, but only because life makes me-- my work is very physical, and I have to ride a bike on a nice day. ALso,SCUBA class means I have to swim, which I've recently discovered I love to do. I'll start really riding soon and lifting for upper body strength.
You know, MT has some Ruby Mountains! SAphires, too.
Your pics are great! And you even included half dome!!!
I wish I had some digitized pictures to share!
Do you use a digital camera? I need to get one!

Re:Running for President jen: I should be swimming - if you would have asked me 3 months ago, I was a swimmer, not a runner...lol, now I am totally addicted to running, and haven't had time to swim.

Those were some digital pics from before, I need to get my own digital camera now, but I normally take black and whites with my manual camera when I go out and about for wilderness adventures :)
