Re:Party hurtingverymuch: Hey, what a great idea "a divorce party". JMN you are too funny ;D.
Maybe some meat/cheese/cracker trays or some light food like raw veggies and dip as notmyself mentioned.
I have a great recipe for seafood dip that you serve with tortilla chips, it's very tasty. I usually take this to parties and get togethers that I go to. I can post the recipe if you want it.
Anyway, good luck with all your parties and hope they all go well. It sounds like they'll be a blast.

Re:Party finney5: I'd love to get the recipe!
I've got a liquor cabinet that I've been building since college, and since I don't drink that much, I offered to provide mixed drinks (most of the people I know stick with beer--I couldn't afford to pay for their habit!!). I know I'll be making magaritas, bloody mary's, and strawberry daquaris. I'm sure there will be other miscellaneous mixed drinks tossed into the mix as well. (I have a friend who used to bartend, she's going to be my 'mixologist' ;D)
Does the seafood dip include shrimp or crab? I can find a name using either of those food elements ;)
Okay, I LOVE those cake ideas, especially the dump truck. That's perfect! I know I'm probably over planning this, but I'm going to have fun!
So.. do I decorate?
Re:Party hurtingverymuch: Here's that recipe for Seafood Dip:
1 package of cream cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup Miracle Whip
3-4 Tbsp seafood sauce
1 can of broken shrimp
shredded cheddar cheese
shredded mozarella cheese
1 stalk chopped green onion
tomato (diced)
green pepper (optional)
Directions: Mix cream cheese, sour cream, Miracle Whip, seafood sauce, and shrimp together thoroughly (I use a hand mixer). Place dip on a dish (I usually use a pie plate) and liberally spread the shredded cheeses, onion, tomato and green pepper on top. Chill and serve.
Hope you like it. :)

Re:Party TiredandScared: I say don't sweat the decorating, as it is just more to clean up after, just have a great time! There is nothing better than hanging out chatting with friends.
Re:Party justmenow: I was gonna burn my wedding dress at the party, but I decided it would probably make a mess of my BBQ grill and I don't want to buy a new one. SO , I will probably just (1) donate it to AmVets or (2) cut it up and use it to decorate my house for the party.... Hmmmmm....
