Final Old_Shoes: My divorce was final on Monday. Got the paperwork in the mail today. Kind of a non event. Neither of us went to court. I never even saw a court room during the divorce.
She told me she's been seeing my son's best friend's Dad. Wish she didn't feel the need to share. :P
On the positive side I've bought a new truck (lost mine in the settlement) and got a new dog. So my country song is turning around. I don't want the wife back so I guess that's the end of my story.
Sadly the divorce paperwork is not very exciting. I was expecting something suitable for framing. ;) After all it marks the end of an 11 year marriage. Maybe a small monument is in order. Maybe a little tombstone to mark where I bury my wedding ring.
Another kind of weird day. Just feeling a little empty, alone and numb. It's been almost a year and I still have trouble believing this happened.
Woo hoo. Nothing like wallowing in a little self pity. Honestly, I'm doing pretty well. I'm walking again, busy at work, having fun with the kids and making something out of my life for myself.

Bless your heart - I'm truly sorry it wasn't more of an "event" for you...I mean...when I got my papers...I was so excited and exhilerated that I have a copy of the signature page on my bulletin board here at work! To me...it was the deed to my life. I have my life back and nothing nor anyone is going to hamper me anymore.
Chin up sweetie...you're obviously better off without her. Enjoy the new truck and dog. You'll be great before too long!
