I'm so glad to hear you're working on putting this marriage behind you, so that you can start getting on with your life, and start thinking about your future. I think it's an important milestone so that your husband understands he no longer has any right to any opinion where you are concerned. It also means "in writing" visitations with the children.
As your children get older the thought of moving and setting grounds for visitations will become easier when they can travel, and do Summer visits etc...it's not an impossible solution. It all depends on how things go with your current situation.
By the way, I'm West of Toronto too, so sometime on your journey through we'll have to have a coffee :)
