What is copy of Pleading?
.

What is copy of Pleading? Khine: I've moved out to AZ from Virginia last year after I had filed for divorce. My ex husband has agreed to return service of acceptance but had not keep his word.
This has been since September last year and I cannot locate him as he works as a contractor in Iraq. (Perfect excuse not to face his responsibilities!)
I have been advised by the court to move on with the case. The procedure according to Fairfax circuit court in VA, states that I must include a "copy of pleading" in order to proceed the case by means of service by publication. What is this?
I have downloaded other papers required for service by publication but do not understand what 'copy of pleading' means.
I am on my own as I do not have means to hire a lawyer. Please help!

Re:What is copy of Pleading? tyrogers: A copy of the pleading in this case sounds like a copy of the original, unsigned divorce agreement which was filed. If you can, be a bit more specific......type the whole paragraph so that I can tell you EXACTLY which copy they need.

Re:What is copy of Pleading? Khine: Ty,
Thanks for the note.
A copy of pleading might then be the copy of the "bill of complaint for divorce" (1 page) and/or "settlement agreement" (4 pages) which I first had to file at court.
Since it will be printed in the papers, I doubt that the settlement agreement will be printed as it is a long document. Appreciate your advice.
