Re:need advise 2tadpoles: Thanks for all your thoughts, folks. In response, let me say that I've chatted with the guy a few times, but nothing in depth. He's very friendly and genuine, and I like that. I don't know about any "vibe," but the last couple of times I talked to him, he held eye contact for a long time. I don't know if he does that with everyone, though.
Anyway, I don't worry about my stbx getting caught up in all this if anything were to come of it. For one thing, we don't live in a small town; it's a busy dojo and I don't think my stbx (J) has ever even said hello to the instructor. He doesn't really "know" him. J wouldn't stop taking the child to class because of it, either.
As for my kids.... they've actually asked me when I'm going to start dating. I think J's behavior has already broken that ice for them, as he was dating his whore before he left me, and my kids know that. They feel bad for the hurt their dad has caused me, and I think they see him happy with her and want me to have someone to be happy with, too.
