damn car salesmen!!! LostTeacher: now.... i will appologize now to anyone on this board who has this as a profession.... i am sure that you do your job very well, and have never made one of your customers feel like this..... so bare with me.
so, i have sold my Truck (for those of you who know my story, that is a HUGE accomplishment!!), which has left me with no set of wheels. been borrowing my dad's jeep for the last week. so anyway, i now need to go out and purchase something to use. now, i have never bought a car without my stbxh, so this was going to be a new experience for me.
so i took my mom (yes, my mom, one of the greatest negotiators of all time! ;)) and we went to check out this ford focus that was advertised in the paper.
well, the ad said that it had a sunroof, so we took it for a test drive, and i loved it.
so we went inside to do the deal, and i told him i wanted it in black. well, the salesman went on to tell me that the ad was wrong, but they were going to honnor it, but could only sell me this one that was SO not my colour. i said "well, the one parked right beside it had a sunroof, why can't i have that". he then told me it was no longer there, and it was sold.
so we kind of were like, ok, give us the price and we will think about it. well, he didn't want to go and haggle price if we weren't going to be serious. i was furious.... he was just going to not give me the price! so we started to walk out. he then fed me all these lines like "it's us against them in the office" and "if you hear yelling in there, you know that i am doing my best."
when he finally comes out, he gives us the worse quote ever, and the numbers weren't even making any sense. so we got up and walked out.
i was so angry!..................partly because of how he was talking down to us, and partly because i really liked the car. and from previous experience, i would never had been talked to like that if my stbxh had been with me.
I AM A LITTLE AGGREVATED!!! AND I NEED A CAR!!!! GRRRR >:(

I was going to buy a new car once, took my little girl with me. NO ONE would help me. We browsed the lot for a good 20 minutes, nobody.
Went inside, and they were all 'miraculously' busy. My little girl was like 3 then and giggling and climbing into the open display cars, etc. Nobody would even look at me.
This happened twice. The 3rd time my stbx came, but I got there first (ignored). My stbx's feet hadn't even hit the pavement when he pulled up and was instantly surrounded by 3 salesmen.
gee, y'all aren't sexist or anything, are ya? And when they asked how they could help him, he said, Why don't you ask my wife? She's the one buying the car.
Needless to say I didn't buy anything from that dealership. Idiots.

Re:d**n car salesmen!!! gogecko: CERTAINLY go somewhere else!!! Not sure where you live, but the MINUTE I get bad service at a car dealership, I go. Fortunately for me there are about 30 Ford dealers within a 1 hour radius.

Re:d**n car salesmen!!! allmixedup: Holy crap, last time I bought a car I was a d!ck to this guy. I had been taken the two times I had bought a car before and it wasn't happening that time. Dude was an idiot. He couldn't do math, I ended up taking his pen and paper out of his had and showing him where he was wrong. It was the guys first day at this dealership and I knew they sent him to me because I was young and they thought he was going to take advantage of me. Not this time buddy. I ripped this guy apart and got what I wanted. I must have been in a really bad mood that day.
