yuck!!! sorry bout that.. when i sold my house, we didnt receive the check for almost a week and a half... i was ticked because we basically had to front a whole lotta money to get in the knew place.. you know the money that you 'have' but is already 'spent'. good luck to ya!!

Thanks to my ex and her crazy games, our house profit was held in escrow for a month after closing until the divorce proceedings finally ended. This made it nearly impossible to move directly into a townhome or condo like TWG is doing.

Yeah, its an inconvenience, but you'll get into the new place :)
There's still a bit over a week to go. Don't give up! :)

Re:Ready to break something :( jillieb44: That and closings get delayed for all sorts of reasons. Even if you can't get the check, your real estate attorney should be able to delay the closing until you get the signature or check or whatever.

Re:Ready to break something :( teacherwriterguy: Thanks guys for the responses.

Finally home from work and unwinding for a second. Waiting on the furnace repair person to come make my house unchilly and for the city inspection to do their final inspection and see that I put batteries in the smoke alarms. :P

Spent all day today doing angry lawyer calls instead of actual work. No fun. Still debating "mental health" day. Going to wait and see if I can get in touch with stbx and lawyer one more time and resolve the last few issues.

I just want to get to 5/7, kick back in my new digs, and be D O N E!

Re:Ready to break something :( jen: twg~

these last few details are a complete pain in the @ss, but just take a few REALLY DEEP BREATHS and remember that you will find a way to make it all work out.

5/7 is just around the corner and you will get there faster than you can imagine. And in the meanwhile, it will probably feel like you are scrambling just to keep everything straight. You can only focus on one thing at a time, so just keep putting one foot in front of the other until you get where you want to be.

Re:Ready to break something :( teacherwriterguy: Well the dust is settling a bit...

If you know me at all (which some of you do :) ) - I don't like leaving things to chance. So I've been trying to come up with different ways to make sure it all works out.

So... confirmed and reconfirmed with lawyers that they are now actually doing what I asked them to do.

Called the stbx - found out she has no printer but got her to commit to going and buying one tonight and calling me when she had everything printed and signed.

Got a committment from family that they'd put up the down payment money temporarily just in case something fell through with the paper exchange until it could be sorted out. So that's good. :)

Taking deep breaths now as Dr. MTMO advised ;)
