Increasing numbers of men in their prime have neither full-time jobs, wives nor children
She said 35 per cent of Australian men aged 35 to 44 in 2003 were not married and did not not have a full-time job. This compared with 20 per cent in 1978.
Half the men aged 25 to 34 had not done what men in that age group had traditionally done: found a full-time job, married and had children. In 1978, only 30 per cent were not on that path.
Professor Richardson said in an interview. "Men of prime parenting age who are married and employed full-time are a threatened species."
Interesting.

Re:Jobless, single and male TiredandScared: Michael,
Then you should understand how scewed that could be do to the huge pentioner crowd down under. As an American who lived there for a few years I saw LOTS of caregivers (mostly men) in the age group living with there parents and taking care of them while recieving a pension for there parents and themselves. The reason I saw this was I was working at Coles, and would chat with the regulars.
That sort of thing is something that is very rarely seen here in the States.
Also where are you originaly from? I was in Newcastle (go Knights)
