Re: My dog just had a huge seizure. Any one have experience with this? Erin: Eeek!

I know how scary that can be. I've had a dog and a cat that have both had seizures. Our vet did the same thing, we checked their glucose levels to see if that had anything to do with it. It didn't and it was just something that happened every once in a while.
My advice is if it isn't the glucose, don't put it on the meds right away. The are depressants and unless the seizures interfere with their lifestyle, I'd hold off.
It could have been that they got into something that they shouldn't have, could have even gotten a bug bite, or be having an allergic reaction.
Record on your calendar when it happened and if the frequency increases, then go back and consider the meds.
Good luck!

:'( my dog sassy passed away from her seizure the evening she had it when the vet was waking her up  from the sedation.  She was 11months 6 days old.  This is just an update on my situation with my black lab mix.
