Cable Company In League With Devil teacherwriterguy: Ok,
Some of you may remember my earlier post about Target being the devil? Well, apparently Comcast Cable is ALSO the devil, or perhaps one of the devil's henchmen. Or a winged minion?
I was originally supposed to have cable tv installed on Monday. Their installer was sick, so they canceled the installation and rescheduled me for a WEEK later on Friday (today). Of course this meant I was stuck without the tv for a week and missed my beloved American Idol :P
ANYHOW, they would NOT give me a scheduled time other than during work hours for this Friday, so I got my semi-retired father to agree to come and sit at my place from 1-3pm waiting for them. Of course, he came down sick with stomach flu, but like the trooper that he is, he came out anyway and waited patiently at my place. I got home at 3:15 and the cable service had not been there.
Gave my father a big hug and sent him home - called the cable company, irate. Waited on hold for 10 minutes, and was promptly disconnected. Now it's 3:30. Called back again. Got put on hold for another 10 minutes - was told that the installer had gotten behind on his visits and because it was now more than 30 minutes late, they'd have to reschedule.
"Oh no," I said (in my best polite voice *sarcasm*) "I am only 30 minutes late because you have disconnected me and put me on hold TWICE. Perhaps, pretty please, there is something you could do?"
So they looked again - and I now have a ticket # - they are supposed to call me back in 15-20 minutes to let me KNOW if someone can MAYBE make it out to my condo tonight.
Who wants to bet they aren't going to call and I have to call them AGAIN?
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Would you look at that? I furrowed my oversized Yoda-brow, mumbled, "You WILL install my cable today!" and the phone rang and the guy was suddenly there outside my building ready to work.

Re:Cable Company In League With Devil gypsy: hey twg - comcast did the same thing to me, but they offered free installation...so make sure you get that from them!!!! Tell them that they made you miss work, blah blah blah and that they need to give you free installation. They did it for me, so they should do it to you too!!
