I seem to recall taking it on a bike trip once and bonking anyway

I've always enjoyed bonking... but maybe that's a guy thing... :) Seriously, though, great tips in that post! As someone who's just recently started getting into fitness, I'm always on the lookout for good tips (especially those that'll help me get my body fat percentage down below 10% or so, which is a LONG way from where I am right now!).

You know what though? I feel the same way. I try to avoid bonking, but when it happens, I usually sort of enjoy it! I mean, a little bonking is what it's all about. when I said Bonk I meant the extreme tho.
Yesterday my H and I summited a peak, and just as we got there, the weather turned soupy and started throwing gropple at us. Thunder cracked right beside us and we lost all visibility over 100 feet. It was insane how fast it happened. One minute we had gorgeous views of the peaks to the SW of us, and the next, we couldn't see the dog. We RAN off the top of the mountain, hooting and hollering, hoping lightening didn't catch us because we were totally exposed for a mile or more.
When we got down, we rested a bit, had bpj's and fruit, and went on a run for an hour or more. I didn't bonk, but I was so giddy after the run.. total endorphin high. I would have been dangerous to drive although I could function. COULD. But I was so ..... spaced out! Just sitting there, grinning. SO pleased with it all-- the weather, my H, the trails, the views we had had before the storm came in, the colors of wet rocks, the smell of wet earth.....the smell of wet dog, even, and the happy look on her face mirrored my own. My H was sort of in the "land of puffy clouds" as well~ i could tell. BUt he's better at driving, thank goodness.

I LOVE that. SO peaceful. I really love the high.

Bonking to me, that one time I totally crash/bonked, I was lukcy to have made it home, and as soon as I was home and seated at the dinner table wiht a plate of food in front of me, I couldn't get my hand to pick up my fork!
I'm seroius. It scared my H and son.
I wanted to eat, I knew I was beyond hungry, but I had not even 2 atp (energy that causes/creates muscle movement) in me to do the simplest task. It was all I could do to mumble "Huh. Can't do this."
Luckily, my H knew what was going on, because I sure didn't. I had to be hand fed a few bites, let them digest, and THEN, I could feed myself.
It was so funny!
I almost fell face forward into my plate of food.

NOw, that sort of bonking, although it's funny to talk about now.... well, let me say it "isn't what I want"!

I try to avoid it now :D
