Re:Looking Up: The Divorcé Mainfesto by CoryL turning leaf: Cory, excellent essay! When friends ask me what it feels like for me right now, I always say: "It's like a chip (with all the memories of the marriage and the past) has been conveniently eradicated from my system. Like a folder previously stored in the computer totally erased. I'm very relieved and optimistic of the future.

Love reading your posts. Very honest. Very genuine. Kudos to you!

I will re-title your manifesto as:

Cory's Excellent Adventure

:o > :-[ > :'( > >:( > :P > :-\ > :) > :D > :-* > ;)

(Oh, and incidentally, that adventure is available to all who are willing to descend into the murk to find it...

I'm going to let my geekiness out a little here now: Remember when Luke Skywalker first met Yoda in the swamp? For me, that was a metaphor of life. In order to gain wisdom and understanding and acceptance of our fate, we first must be willing to descend into the bowels of the muck and mud. Passing through the miasma allows our souls to be purged, our brains to be expunged of unwanted dreck, and provides us with the incredible opportunity of a new life - - - on the other side.)

Re:Looking Up: The Divorcé Mainfesto by CoryL jt5639: Cory,

Thank you for sharing that with us. I'm not as far ahead as you are so it gives me hope for where my path is taking me. I just picked up running recently and love it exactly because it allows me to focus on one single point, instead of all the crap typically storming through my brain. Thanks again.
