Dating/Relationship Books LettinGo: Okay, so I am a geek. Does anyone else read these now that you are single?

Why Men Love B!tches - Sherry Argov **1/2
This is an okay book that I turn to occasionally when I need to "un-cling" myself from someone. Basically, IMO, the entire book tells you to hold back and not make yourself so available to men and they will want you. That's about it summed up in one sentence. ::) But, it's entertaining and not a bad read.
Be Honest--You're Not That Into Him Either: Raise Your Standards and Reach for the Love You Deserve - Dr. Ian Kerner *****
AWESOME book! My favorite! Unfortunately, I see myself in every page ... always settling afraid that something better will never come along. I really like this book and recommend it. It's a real eye opener and I keep this around to remind myself to NEVER settle for less again!
I have actually never read "He's Just Not That Into You". I think I have been avoiding admitting the truth - lol - but I just ordered it. I figured, eh, what the heck. May as well read it.
Any others?

Re:Dating/Relationship Books pluscachange: Proper Care And Feeding Of Husbands - Dr. Laura Schlessinger - 4 1/2 stars (out of 5).
Gives some *wonderful* advice on marital relationships that people should know before they get married. Does make some silly claims here and there, but I generally overlook those because she's kind of a pop culture celeb type. Still, some great words of wisdom to be found from such an unlikely source as Dr. Laura.
Re:Dating/Relationship Books LettinGo: Hi plusachange!
Okay, I have not read this book but I think I read something about it on a message board once - possibly here - and the women were not happy with it. Again, I know nothing about the book, but it said something like basically that women are supposed to serve and worship their husbands. Lol!
Is that what the book is really about?

Well, that would be the goofy part. And it takes up a whole of 1/2 a chapter, and I myself disagree with it. I tend to be attracted to strong women with intelligence and strong personalities, so the submissive thing doesn't cut it with me.
However, the rest of the book makes some pretty common sense suggestions. I tend to take from things the good, and discard the bad. In today's PC culture, I know that's a no no, but it's the surest path to wisdom, IMHO.

Yep - I think it is necessary! I will look into that ... although I will replace "husband" with "boyfriend" because I am not thinking marriage annnnnnnnnnnnnnytime soon
