Memorial Day Weekend justmenow: What a difference 2 years can make. Two years ago, I was piling the kids in the car to make the yearly trudge to the in-law's house for a dull, monotonous Memorial Day barbecue. This came complete with marginal food, dull conversation, and an insatiable urge to run home.
THIS year for Memorial Day, while my ex had custody of the kids for the weekend, my magnificent man took me on a romantic weekend to a resort on the shores of Lake Michigan. We ate marvelous food, walked on the beach, sat and watched sunsets, did some wine tasting, relaxed in the whirlpool, and talked and talked and talked.
While I was in relationship hell about 2 years ago, I had no hope that my life would ever being right again. This man is everything my ex wasn't (caring, tender, funny, intelligent) and now I wonder how I ever lived without some of the things I was missing (love, respect, unconditional acceptance). Love has returned after a long absence and I have never been more content.
