Re:buying drinks Blueyes424: I think it's sweet if a guy offers to buy me a drink......especially if I don't have one in my hand already.

I sing a lot of karaoke, and one night at the place I frequent, I had just gotten done singing, and to tell me how good he thought I was, this guy bought me a drink. It was really cool, and very sweet of him.
(it also swelled my head a little to hear that he thought I was that good!!! ;))
Re:buying drinks turning leaf: It's so normal here in socal to receive manhoodtails from men but its NEVER a guarantee and it should NEVER be assumed that there's a pick-up motive. I think they're just generous and patronizing where I go. Plus if I don't like him and he's talking nonsense, I wouldnt be too shy to say hasta la vista while i'm sipping my free appletini away from him.

One of the smooth ways men do this is to ask the bartender what I'm drinking and the bartender or server just takes it to my table. When I ask who it's from, he'll point out the 'giver' and if i like what i see then i'll make an effort to mouth thank you and wave him over to our table. if i didn't like the visuals, i'd still mouth thank you, raise my glass in a cheers kinda way and just yak away to my friends. no waving nor inviting him to the table.

What comes out of his mouth after the quick meet and greet over a free drink is what essentially matters. It will set the pace for digit-exchanging!

Hey man out west the women love a free drink but, You might be right never looked at it like that ;D It is very diffrent out here.

I roped a girl in a bar once that did not work too well her B/F found no humor in it at all :o Got a nice scar just above the eye for that one ::)

It must be some of the conversations I heard my mother and her friends get into from time to time.

"Well, let's head to the bar. Don't bring your purse, you won't need it, you buy the first, they buy all the rest" and stuff like that. Ick.

And now that you mention it, what is it with chicks who will come on to you in a place who have b/f's right there? It's not like they're setting you up for the stalking horse, hell most of their b/f's don't even know they're flirting with you. I don't get it. If she doesn't want to be with him, then why is she with him?

Ah, so many things in life I don't understand. I think I need a drink. :)
Re:buying drinks Druid13: Yeah...I think the buying drinks thing comes across a bit....slimy for some reason....not sure why? Kind of old cliche crap to me.

But I spend little time in the bars too...unless I am playing.
