This statement says it all to me. You should have been #1 in his life, and if you weren't then, you never are going to be. I know it is harsh, and I apologize for that. But do you always want to be competing against his wrestling? That's a horrible way to have to live...feeling like you are not quite important enough to him.
There are guys out there who will cherish and adore you and your son and make you #1 in their life. Let go of this one and find one who will.

Expecting people to wait on you hand and foot are fine, if, and only if:
1. You're paying them to wait on you hand and foot.
2. You're a 3 year old child without a sense of "others".
And that's about it. He shouldn't expect you to keep giving while he sucks up what he wants and then moves on the moment you ask for something in return.
You really do sound like a wonderful person, outside of this discussion we're having. You really do, deserve more than this, I believe. Put it this way. In the course of a day, if you had a vendor that treated you like this, say, took your money, sent you invoices for payment, kept sending you invoices for payment, never delivered a product whatsoever, gave you hell for even suggesting they deliver product, and then one day just closed shop and said "tough noogies", would you accept that as valid? Would you want to do business with them again?
Another way to look at it, is that you have half the cast of South Park here in agreement. If Cartman and I can agree, well, it must be true. :)
