Visitation Schedules Tarheel: I just got some pretty good news: my wife wants to settle the divorce out of court, leaving our custody situation pretty much as is, which is great for me, since I have pretty much all the cards right now.
What we have now as "ex parte" custody: I have primary physical custody of our daughter, with my wife getting our daughter, unsupervised, Wednesday night at 8:00 to Friday night at 8:00, every other week, under the conditions that there are no unrelated guests of the opposite sex staying overnight with her, no drinking, and she provides transportation.
What she is proposing: keeping everything the same, EXCEPT that during the "three summer months," she gets our daughter, and I only get her a week each month.
Just tossing this out there to start some discussion. For those of you with kids, what kinds of custody/visitation deals do you have and should I jump on this?

Re:Visitation Schedules Tarheel: Unless my wife remarries, and is thus, "related" to her new husband, my daughter is to not stay overnight in the same house with them.
That's the thing now, she's living with her "worthless piece of s***" boyfriend (as her mom put it). And she can't get our daughter until Thursday morning. Then drops her off with me that night, and does it again on Friday. Ya know, rather than get a place of her own...

Re:Visitation Schedules stupify: i really think you are playing with fire with that clause... i understand the worthless boyfriend that you dont want your daughter around now.. but for future relationships you are definatly going to screw yourself in the end.. my ex husband decided he was going to inforce a rule like that, when i started dating my now husband, and i point blank told him, if he so much as tried to do that, i would end up with full custody.. we have joint legal and joint physical custody now. i wasnt going to let my exhusband run my love life, which is essentially what he was trying to do. i dont know what kind of woman your wife is, but i told my ex he had to trust my judgment, that i gave birth to my son, and would never put him in a harmful situation.
