Tests turning leaf: This is connected to the "tribute to women" thread on Anything Goes. I quoted this from Beren:
"I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights." - Maya Angelou
[color=Maroon"> My tests were how one handles being stuck in traffic and how one treats the servers at restaurants. I guess I have to add how one handles divorce, too. Sure, it doesn't apply to everyone, but then again, neither do Christmas tree lights[/color"> . Quote: Beren
Just want to ask the Ojar boys and girls what kind of tests you put out there to ensure smooth transition from casual dating to the next level.
Re:Tests jillieb44: I don't have any tests per se, but I do like to see how the other person reacts when life is throwing lemons...and other seemingly minor incidents.
My ex blew everything out of proportion (didn't while we were dating though...so not a true test).
Oh, I guess I should amend this to add that I want to see how they interact with my kids (not at first, but if they will be a long-term addition/friend). Do they try to control my kids? Parent them without knowing my parenting style? Etc? Do they make my kids laugh; do my kids like them? Are my kids happy to be with them? That is a *big* test I'd guess, for any boyfriend/serious relationship. For dating, not so much, until it becomes more serious (not going to parade a string of men past my kids). Note: They did meet one friend, and he passed this test. He's still at friend status though.

Re:Tests penguin: ditto Jilly...
Re:Tests MadorSad: I have a test for the women and yes it involves beer and girl parts ;D ahhhhhhh
Re:Tests CoryL: I've got one test and one test only.
1) Are you gay?
If the answer is no, then I can date you and potentially see where it goes, otherwise, you can go hang out with my ex-wife because she changed her answer to that one. LOL! ;D I'm terrible!
Other than that, I do look for small things. Do you look at me when talking or listening? Not stare, but make eye contact. Do you smile and laugh a lot? Are you interested in doing things that I like to do?
Second most important, however, is can you throw a football?
