slowing things in new relationship Dino: well its almost 6 months now for me since my ex left and I have a new girl in my life.
I like this girl but I really don't want to become too attached to her too quickly. Not talking about physically, already been there. What's the best way to go about this. Dig deep ojarians, I know there is good advice out there.
Is it possible, or do you think our characters too strongly influence our feelings? Should I just go with the flow and see where things take me?
Re:slowing things in new relationship Dino: Thanks Poetry
Yes I need to balance things. Just have to make sure I don't get carried away with something new.
Re:slowing things in new relationship Chey: Hmmmm you know what...sometimes over thinking something kills the joy of just being able to FEEL again. So my advice..take it slow, enjoy it for what it is, build a friendship, and see where the tide takes you.
I hope you're having a wonderful time.
Re:slowing things in new relationship AmyMarie1972: Hey Dino,
In the same boat as you. I have been seeing this guy for a couple of months now. Dont want to build up my feelings either. What I am doing is working on the friendship that we are building together rather than the romance and just seeing what happens naturally.
Hope it works out for you
Amy
Re:slowing things in new relationship Dino: I work remotely so I fly in/fly out. I guess it means the time we do spend together is pretty intense because we are just all over each other.
It helps though because when i fly out i have a week to be away from her and calm down.
I think maybe it's just me being a big blouse.
Amy - how do you just work on being friends?
