Re:Replacement value Runehawk: Its a simple thing to get entangled in fantasy. For men, it can be the fantasy of a stripper, while for women, its a harlequin romance novel with a Fabio pirate (or fireman!) on the cover. We all have our candy, we all have a sweettooth, and occasionally find ourselves falling into the candy dish...
Its overly harsh to condemn one flavor of candy over another, no?
Re:Replacement value charmed: It's not overly harsh to condemn the candy when the customer can't stay away from the candy shop LOL
We all have our taste in candy, but how much we focus on it makes a difference. When we let that candy take priority in our lives, there is a problem!!!
Re:Replacement value Samarra: Also...I do believe there is a difference in the trashy, erotic novel and a strip club.
I can't reach out and touch the men on the covers (DANM!) but you can go get a lap dance.
The temptations are a little different...no?
Re:Replacement value charmed: My original point is about "replacement" value = replace real people for a fantasy world. I don't see where that is ever healthy or "right", regardless of the "type" of candy.
Re:Replacement value Samarra: Replacing real people for an idealized...or in this case...plastic version...is never OK.
Hopefully the guys that frequent these places have the sense enough to know that these women are playing with them...but as you know...that's not always the case. The fantasy stupidly becomes the reality, and the reality. was nowhere as good as the fantasy.
