Re:"Welcome to the World of the Emotionally Unavailable" Aerophis: I have found myself on both ends of this situation. My ex of 5 years and I broke up over various issues. I don't know if i'll ever have as good of a time with anybody else. On the other hand, I recently got together with somebody that was pretty stable and a very practical relationship. At first it was a welcome change and I was very excited, but when I realized it wasn't everything I had dreamed it went south fast. She was still in love with me, and I didn't want to hurt her, but you can't fake these things.

After dating a few people I have temporarily given up, I just want to be single for a while. I miss having that special someone, but damn, relationships can be so complicated... I need to work out my own issues before I even try again. Maybe, just maybe, that is what you need too.

Jim the one I belong to costs an arm and a leg; usually about a few bills a weekend. Of course, there are perks like not walking straight, riding in cars with strangers, appearing intelligent and seeing the sun come up before you even went to bed. Granted these perks are normally followed up by laying lifeless on your couch on Sunday and wondering why your accounts all have charges like:

Ahhh ... the wonderful world we live in.
