road trip jimloveless: *yawn!* sorry... still pretty beat after 7 hours of sleep...

well, my trusted friend martin and i survived an 800+ mile journey across the deserts of eastern oregon and the mountain passes of the central portion of the state. our trek led us from ontario, oregon to eugene, and then back again. with one more day, i would have made the extra 45 minute ride to the pacific, but we ran out of time.

the bikes treated us well and my SV is all broken in now. this cycle has got some real zip to it. burning through the gears is enough to make me feel like the skin is sliding off of my face. while that doesn't sound comfortable, it is actually quite a thrilling experience :)

well, i took pictures, so ya'll get to see some of the cool places we found ourselves in. also, what's nice about being on a motorcycle is an instant conversation starter with other cyclists. bikers are usually very friendly, very talkative people and i'm glad to be in their ranks, finally.

so, here is a shot of the sun going down over the mountains east of Burns. we saw these colors and decided it best to stop and get a photo.

this is what forest fire can do. this area is between bend and springfield on the east side of the lavabeds. fire devistated much of the forest here, tho i am not sure how many years ago that was.

this is a little dot on the map known as mackenzie bridge. here, we met a man who appreciated our bikes and then proceeded to tell me about the bike he had down in Reno, NV... supposedly he always drove his friend to the whorehouses on the back of it... ::)

really crappy photo of sisters, oregon . a LOT of extremely hot women in this town. it's a total tourist trap not far from Bend. i wanted to show the east coasters what real mountains look like... but the photos don't do them any justice :D

lastly... on our trip home i got some shots of the wide open areas of eastern oregon. it's so quiet and lonely out there , and i know it sounds strange, but i felt a certain kinship with the land out here. i guess the wide empty space there reflected on what i felt in my heart after seeing her again.

oh yeah... and here is the stretch where i broke my land speed record. i hit the big 120 on this straightaway right after the bike's odometer flipped to 1000.

had a great trip all in all. we'll be making more in the coming months.

Re:road trip jimloveless: thanks blue.. it was exactly what i needed; flying down the road at 75 singing songs at the top of my lungs. being in the wide open spaces and then under a canopy of trees with the smell of pine in the air :)

my virtual vacation in the flesh.

but i missed the ocean. i wish i could have made it over to florence to take pictures for ya. but we were pretty tight on time.
Re:road trip Blueyes424: Well, who knows.....maybe one of these days after we win the lotto, I can just come with ya, and see it in person!!!!!

Then we can take all the time we want, and it'll be good!!!!!! ;)
Re:road trip Shanna: Thanks a bunch for sharing the pictures!!!
