Re:What would a post OJar Dating Site look like? Brian75034: 1) What would a ideal post-OJar dating site look like?

place to chat, get to know people, and if a date works out for someone, then that much better.

2) What would make it different from the gazillions of other dating sites out there already?

the divorce angle. I personally know having a girlfriend that has been divorced too makes a connection, been there, done that, sort of understanding.

3) How could a community feel be brought into the dating site? More then just a photo and a "I walk on the beach" comment.

again, the divorce angle. quite a bonding factor. just look at this website!

4) What would it be called?

dunno. not feeling that creative right now!! ;)

Re:What would a post OJar Dating Site look like? Safetykc: Hmmm....

1) What would a ideal post-OJar dating site look like? (Not sure...would it be limited to only divorced people? That rules out 50% of the population. Or would there be a section for divorced people or look like all the others where you just select your status, single, seperated, divorced, other)

Hmmm...Not sure...something similar to current OJAR...but with love in the air? Maybe buletin board area, chat... Profiles obviously...A way to send PM's to people or Buzzzz em so they are interested they can buzzz you back.

2) What would make it different from the gazillions of other dating sites out there already? The divorced angle I guess...Go with a model that works...why reinvent the wheel.

3) How could a community feel be brought into the dating site? More then just a photo and a "I walk on the beach" comment. As I said in one, keep an area for members to post and IM or chat with each other...community is the people on the borad...you are the "Enabler" for those people to meet each other and create their own comunity Michael... ;) Seriously though, this is a toughie...the whole concept is tough because unless it is based on the local level or a way to meet divorced folk in your area you end up with a lot of spread out folk and long distance relationships...can be "frustrating" to say the least.)

4) What would it be called? You can check if the URL site name is available at, Click Name Boy. (Not to quote Mad TV, but Lowered Expectations?? I AM JUST KIDDING!!! That's just the divorce bitterness in me coming out..cough cough...it's almost all up now... I like Second Chances even it is a little corny.

5) And finally, how much would you be willing to pay monthly for an excellent dating site that did more then just provide a photo/text block? Remember, it would require advertising to attract members through all the noise and static on the Internet. OJar after all these years is indexed highly on all major search engines, it also fills a niche, but a dating site would need to be different and promoted - hence the need for $'s. Free dating sites attract tyre kickers. If someone is serious about finding a life partner they will put their $'s where their heart is. (Well, that is a challenge, most dating sites range from 10-30 a month so somewhere in the middle, or maybe a trial membership could be lower, or a basic level which is profiles, but chat and board posting privelages more)

Well, Good luck Michael if you ever decide to do this. It's kind of an interesting idea...

Re:What would a post OJar Dating Site look like? admin: Name for a post OJar site...

How about "evol" or similar - love spelt backwards!

Why?

Sometimes you find love in the wrong sequence. ;D
Re:What would a post OJar Dating Site look like? justmenow: lol, sounds too much like "evil" which guess would apply in some cases. Evil is only "Live" spelled backwards.
Re:What would a post OJar Dating Site look like? Safetykc: hmmm

and "divorce" spelled backwards is "ecrovide"....which makes no sense...

JUST LIKE DIVORCE!!! Ba dum dum.... ;D
