Re: cuddling vent! inthemiddle: Ever think about sleeping pills? My doctor gave me a prescription for some right after my separation (along with some anti-depressants), and they were a life saver. After the first couple months, I started reducing the amount and was able to start sleeping on my own again. I got off the anti-depressants a few months after that.

Re: cuddling vent! EssieDotCom: i did this last night. My husband has been sleeping over in the other bedroom, and i walked in and just held onto him, even though I know he doesn't love me. I sleep much better with him by my side, and it hurts to know that even though I'm with him, he's not really with me.  I have OTC sleeping pills, but i think after taking those so many nights you should lay off for a bit.  in the case of Anti_depressants, well, they won't help much.  My doc says they have no effect on me because of my thyroid problems.  so my depression is linked with my thyroid, and none of the depression meds i've tried seem to help.  But "Inthemiddle" did make me think about talking to my doc about my sleep problems, thankz.

Re: cuddling vent! AmyMarie1972: Hi,
I think that everybody feels the same, with the nights being so difficult because suddenly the bed that you shared which was so small has now you're on your own become so huge.
Sometimes one of the kids would wake up and decide to get into the bed, which was great, but most of the time it was my 3 year old and he really wriggles in his sleep so I was still kept awake.
Things get better with time though, although I do still miss the hugs at night.
Dont be hard on yourself for wanting to feel those feelings again.
Take care
Amy

Re: cuddling vent! amola: benadryl....works like a champ to knock my @$$ out....for about 4 hours.  then i'm WIDE AWAKE.  then i finally fall asleep again, only to wake up with a horrible benadryl hangover......icky.

i thought i'd be smart last night and take one of my anti-puke pills before bedtime since they cause drowsiness.  same thing.  asleep as soon as i hit the pilllow at midnight, wide the hell awake at 4am.  sucked.

i generally don't have problems sleeping, so i'm one of the lucky ones.  sometimes it's hard to fall asleep but generally once i'm there i'm gone......
