Medication Repentant: Has anyone here taken anti-depressants during their break-up please?
A friend of mine suggested Efexor, but I'm cautious when it comes to meds. I took prozac years ago and it didn't do much for my agression. Coming off them wasn't very pleasant either as I remember it.  But now I'm looking for relief from pain I suppose. I get depressed and I've read that I have the 'symptoms' of it.

Good idea for the short-term?
Re: Medication Older Guy: Repentant - sorry you feel that way...but my best advice would be to consult your family physician to discuss.  Everybody is different and what works for one may not wokr for another...good lcuk to you.

Re: Medication riversandlakes:
depression hit me for two week; no food, some drinks and no sleep. strangely i never fell sick in this time of great angst.

i took some anti-dep; forgot its name.

Re: Medication insomnia: i thought about getting some meds myself (something for sleep and depression) but i was afraid of becoming dependent.  to tell you the truth, since finding this site, i actually feel much better....  yes, there are bad times still- really bad times (mostly when my daughter leaves to be with her dad) but its not as frequent as before.  i dont find myself fearing the night time as much.
just talking to people here and trying to help others, has actually helped me to get him out of my mind and give my mind a much needed break.
Re: Medication sparks: I started seeing a counselor shortly after my breakup.  I refused medication thinking there was nothing physically wrong with me so I didnt need it. Six months later of no sleep and not eating well,  I went to the counselort who took one look at me and said she was putting me on anti-depressant because I looked like crap.  She explained that it was only for a short time and that there is nothing wrong with taking it. I took it for about 6 months and it helped alot. Talk to your doctor or therapist.  They will know if it will help you or not.
