Re: Fling? whatnext: Another thing, from the SF book I'm reading (Gene Woolf is the maaan, respond if you agree... </end digression>):

"When we are talking to women, we talk as though love and desire are two seperate entities; and women, who often love us and sometimes desire us, maintain the same fiction.  The fact is that they are aspects of the same thing...  If we desire a woman, we soon come to love her for her condescension in submitting to us... , and since if we desire her she always submits in imagination at least, some element of love is ever present."

True or not, I remembered this passage when thinking of your situation (and mine -- having lunch with work hottie tomorrow -- woohoo!)

Good luck!
Re: Fling? summerparis: Jillie, this sounds nice.  It really seems to me that you could use some fun in your life.

Sometimes a fling can be the stepping stone to a more serious relationship with someone who is an appropriate partner.  It sounds like you don't have any illusions about what this man can or can't offer you, and that you're very attracted to him.  I have a friend who likes to say, sometimes you just need to get your oil changed before you go out and buy a new car (or in this case, a Harley!)

Those of us who don't have a Harley riding hunk waiting in the wings are eagerly awaiting more details.  YEAH BABY!  xox Songbird

Re: Fling? AloneandCold: I think one more question you need to ask yourself before you jump in is "If you develop feelings for this guy (its been known to happen) would he be able to give you what you need in a relationship?"  If not would you be able to walk away from him if you were in love, and would you?

Just IMO.  :)
