urgent help cherryice: Im splitting up with my partner.
The house and all bills are in his name only although I gave him money every month to pay bill and other things for the house.
We have 2 little boys under the age of 2yrs.
Were do I stand?
He wants me to leave the house.
Im now angry and think if you want to split the family up then you can move.
Why should I take the kids and move from the family home.
Can anyone help please

Re: urgent help rhondam71: Is the house in both names? If it's in his only then legally you can't do anything. However, you should petition IMMEDIATELY for child support. If you do end up moving, then you will have some $ for rent/new house, etc.
If the house is in both names, then DO NOT LEAVE.

Then file for child support.
If you were paying half the bills then you shouldn't have any trouble getting your own place and paying the bills.
Sometimes it's easier emotionally just to leave and not fight over something you likely won't win, as you're not married. Sometimes I wish I were in your shoes (cuz I did walk away and it would be so nice just to be done with it and not worry about the legal crap).
