Is he responsible? wstcstmama: When my husband left me had our rent money in his wallet which he refused to turn over. Therefore I could never catch up so I was evicted. The judgement is in both of our names however that does not factor in the other expenses and loss I suffered. I hate that he basically got away scott free. Because if I want to live I have to pay this not him. He has a place to live so why would he care that I cant rent a place.

When you are married you both have full discretion over all money in your possession/bank accounts. The typical example is when one person goes to the bank and empties the joint checking acct and leaves the other spouse with none. In the bank's eyes you are one and the same.
