I know I can never go back to that way of life, why do I feel sorry for him and even guilty that he faced this alone? Years of always supporting his stupid mistakes?
Re:STBX jailed picadilly: You feel bad for him because your a good person. Unlike him, you can't turn your emotions & feelings on & off. You spent allot of years together (10?) & you can't just stop forgetting you loved him at one point.

Re:STBX jailed ChrisJane: I've been pondering should I ask the judge to consider another option other then jail. My stbx has a substance abuse problem that triggers his anger. If he could be made to seek help he might turn his life around.
Isn't counseling/rehab better then jail?

Better for him to get some help, better for you to ease your pain & I think better for your son, if he still thinks of him as his "dad" then it will be better if he doesn't think that the situation put him in jail. That being said, if the judge will not listen to your rehab plea, then maybe jail time will be a wake up call for your stbx.
Have to wonder where this OW is, if she was stalking you to not press charges & then she doesn't bother showing up for the court hearing? Yeah, quality person there. :o
