Re:A Wild Hare! Brian75034: D2B,

Too funny! You must be quite the 'straight' gal because I dont find Deep Ellum all that freaky at all. Well, maybe some certain tatoo shops! ;-)

If you go to The Green Room or Bone Daddys, its like a big frat party again with pretty people all over. I hate it! haha...

Besides I prefer MY side of town0 the uptown area. And also, lower greenville.

I think those areas would probably be moreto your liking! :-)

Re:A Wild Hare! EZ: Ok D2B
I can grab a quick flight from Houston to dallas in 30 minutes but before I do you have to tell me about this Deep Ellum., cause if its like some club with male stripers and I walk in as soon as I leave there would be 20 or 30 friends of mine standing outside with cameras as my luck has gone this year lol
And of course then they would say ooooo now we know what happened in his marriage lol
Tell me about this pleeeeez . o and does the Big D have a general location for live music like Houston or did yall spread it out all over town like everything else in Dallas ;)

Re:A Wild Hare! Brian75034: ez,

Deep Ellum is a couple blocks of bars and clubs- just east of downtown. The streets are main and Elm st. It is called Deep Ellum because back in the 20's when they had blues bands/bars there, they called it 'Deep Elm' but came out sounding 'Ellum'.

Its sort of spread out. You have your main areas though. Deep Ellum, Lower Greenville, Uptown area, knox/henderson area, and West End(which I find too touristy).

Downtown has not developed yet like Houston unfortunetly.

Re:A Wild Hare! down2basics: Hey Brian...

Actually - I'm from "smallsville" if you know what I mean - people are much more conservative here where I live. That's why I enjoy Dallas so much - I can let my "alter ego" loose! ;D I really enjoyed Deep Ellum - it was an adventure....not nearly as bad as I had heard it was years ago...

There were cops on every corner monitoring everything - so the people that were there were pretty calm...the restrooms were an adventure though! ;D LOL!

I just am not used to seeing such a diverse line up of people...but I did truly enjoy it!
