Re:The Ring--What happens to it? brynne: I love my ring, I picked it out exactly the way I wanted it, so I now wear it on my right hand (my engagement ring). I let my sister wear my wedding band b/c her's became too tight after she had a baby.

You are entitled to keep both your engagement & wedding rings, according to the law. So if it makes you unhappy to wear it, at least try selling it so you can pocket some $$.

Re:The Ring--What happens to it? hopeful: I actually had a divorce ceremony with some of my friends. We went in to the bathroom and one of my friends said "hocus pocus, I now declare you divorced" and I took the two gold bands (not the engagement ring) and flushed them. yep, you read right. I flushed them. Now the two wedding rings are where the sorry jerk belongs....swimming in Sh*t!!

Crude? Yes, but it felt so good. I finally had some closure...I flushed that man right out of my life. I'm taking my one carat diamond engagement ring and giving it to my mom to have the diamond set in to a necklace. Then I am going to have my mom wrap it up and put it under the tree and give it to me at Christmas. That way it is from her, not the jerk. It's too pretty to let sit in a box.

Re:The Ring--What happens to it? barelybreathing: Too classic hopeful! LOL!

I am definately going to do some hocus pocus divorce ritual too...great idea really. (Although I could never throw the ring down the well, um, toilet.) That I couldn't.

Re:The Ring--What happens to it? ostia: My STBX and I had matching plain platinum bands. I put mine in a curio cabinet I have that has a lot of objects that are/were important to me in it. It seems appropriate--it is a relic (as defined by Webster: "a remnant left after decay, disintegration, or disapearance" ). I have no idea what he did with his.
Re:The Ring--What happens to it? Safetykc: LOL, Mine are Titanium bands, engraved on the inside...Guess it will come in handy if I need a new bolt on my mountain bike... :o
