Picking up and Leaving Town krssrv: OK Im really sick of Denver the motto here should be (the big rat race and where its never summer.) Since im divorced I really could care about having nice things, most recently I sold all my belongins on denver.craigslist.org. Anyways now with everything gone and my big empty apt I find myself always away from home either at the library a friends house or the gym. I just have no desire to be here anymore I have lost all desire to live in Denver.
Howerver, I make damn good money around 38k a year but after child support and taxes im down to around 28k a year. Then after rent and bills its like 10k a year. So Really im working to survive which sucks and is pretty stupid IMHO. Its like okay I worked today to pay for electricity food child support and my car but what did that get me another day of paying for those things? It s like time is moving forward but I'm not.
I wonder if I could quit my job go back to school live in a dorm and get student loans.. Ive never experienced the college life and at the age of 27 I feel that I need to get that done sooner than later.
Has anybody ever just picked up and moved on just got in there car with what they could fit and bounced.
Im really scared, I have a comfy easy job, and I have everything I need and If I wanted to go back to school my job would pay for it. But cmon now who wants to go to school and work FT when you dont have to.
ID love to move to a coastal town and go to school but would not know where to start I have 0 friends or family near the coast.
How hard is it to start ANEW?
Re: Picking up and Leaving Town sourpuss: you just do it. you pack up the car and go.
but beware the wrath of ojarians everywhere if you skip out on your child support payments & visitation........
Re: Picking up and Leaving Town krssrv: Yeah but how hard is that to do really. I plan on doing this come X_mas and want everything togethor when I bounce.
My ex and I are working on a new parenting plan now and my soon to be 0 budget.
Im just nervous can somebody whose done this tell me how hard or easy it was.
Re: Picking up and Leaving Town ChristyM: I picked up and moved. Just one day decided to do it and moved by the end of that month. I had a big garage sale and sold all my stuff, gave notice at my work and apartment, packed up the car and drove down here to Florida to live by the beach. I haven't for one second regretted it. Sure, I miss some things about home but I know in my heart this is where I'm meant to be. I love it here. I figured if I made it through a divorce in one piece, moving should be a breeze!

*Edited to add: I didn't have friends or family down here either -- it was a fresh start.
