Should I have to ask?? microtech1: Ok so here's the story. I dated a girl I work with for a little while and things were not going to go anywhere. I told her up front where I was at before anything ever happened between the two of us that I wasn't really looking for anything and she told me that she was in the same place. Once I realized that the two of us would be better off as friends I talked to her about it and was honest. I told her that she was not my type and listed specific reasons I felt that way.
It has been over a month and we still talk from time to time at work but she has become short and cross with me over the last couple of weeks. Today I find out that she is upset because I am bringing a date to a co-workers wedding reception. I asked her what upset her so much about me bringing a date and she said it made her upset because it confirmed that she was a rebound relationship for me. It never was intended that way and I said upfront that I wasn't looking for anything but someone to have a good time with. I broke it off quickly and now she says this.
I said sorry I didn't think about how me bringing a date would affect you. She threatened her friend that if I bring a date she won't go to the reception. Should I have to ask her if I can bring a date? It's over between us and has been for awhile now. I just don't get it!
Re: Should I have to ask?? tyrogers: Nope. You should not have to ask her. If y'all had that discussion up front, then she should have expected it. Bring your date! Have a good time!!! If she doesn't go, then it is her loss. ;)

I have come to the conclusion that as a general rule, women are insane.
You'd be surprised how much clearer your understanding will be once you realize that.
