do they stay with the OW/OM?? kidj4: i mean really ... what are the odds?? my stbx's OW was also married and now supposedly getting divorced too .... what are the odds that these two cheaters will really stay together?? i can't wait until he finds out the grass is not greener on the other side!
Re: do they stay with the OW/OM?? dgiirl: When he first left, I was so obsessed with this thought. I wanted to know the statistics and I believed he would come back. They say it takes from 6 months to a year for the affair to stop once it's been exposed. Logically, this sounds correct because when i was dating, this tended to be the norm for people who were infatuated with each other to break up. And I think affairs happen because people are infatuated with the idea, not because they found their soulmate. Statistics say it's about 1% chance they will end up happily married and never get a divorce. But the chance of him coming back is not good either. All of these stats is stuff I found online, and nothing was consistent. I would love to have real proof with good background information on how the study was performed and stuff.
I've read a lot of stuff, and from a 3rd perspective, I'm really interested in knowing if it's true. Without the emotions of a heartache, this stuff is really fascinating and I'd love to know the real truth.

as for truths and real answers ... unfortuneatly they don't exist. no guarntees in life ... a fact we've all had to come to realize .

I know in my EX-GF of 7yrs won't be staying with her married OM with kids for the long haul. But the way I see it.....She's sick! He's(OM) sick! They're both sick! They're made for each other! Its true love! ;D
I hope her new"true lust" works out so I won't hear from her again.
Re: do they stay with the OW/OM?? Bubba: No idea what the stats are but I know my ex has been living with the guy she was having an affair with for over a year now. I recall thinking about this sort of thing when it all happened. Things like, oh you just wait, it won't work. Or I can't wait till she crashes and burns. Now, I just feel sorry for her. I know she isn't happy, but I know she trapped herself when she bought house with him. Either way I stopped thinking about this sort of things a very long time ago, I am sure y'all will too.
