Do cheaters deserve forgiveness?  or am I just trying to me an enabler to my wife's sin?

[/quote">

It is not a matter of what she deserves........YOU deserve to be happy.....if forgiving your wife and not allowing her sin to destroy your family makes YOU happy, then no, you are not just enabling her...you are doing whats right for you. Cheating is wrong and hurtfull but only you know if you can work past it or not.

Re: Having an affair is normal, right? Failedjedi: What is normal ????

If you are incapable of meeting wedding vows, incapable of keeping promises and justifying betrayel then yes cheating is normal.

I would in that case rather be very abnormal and I am sure anyone I would be with and love and respect would be very happy I am abnormal.

Forgivness is a blessing from God, Foolishness is a curse.

ask yourself what forgivness truly is  and then see if your acting foolishly
Re: Having an affair is normal, right? sourpuss: not "normal", but certainly "common" or "typical".

the truly remorseful are deserving of forgivness.

that doesn't mean forgetting and it sure as heck doesn't mean that the marriage can be saved.  only you know whether or not you can forgive to a degree that would allow for a  continuing relationship.

i have "mostly" forgiven my stbx & former friend, but i cannot trust either of them anymore, so both relationships are effectively over.  no amount of apologizing will fix that.

not that there's been an apology......
Re: Having an affair is normal, right? Mart: Hi,

Forgive?  Maybe; but forget?  No.

I realize that in the past few years, divorce, separation and cheating has become a trend.  I find that years ago, when a spouse cheated, people would shun them.  Now, people see it more like hey man its cool, I won't judge you and I still think you are a wonderful person.  To me, that is sick.  Marriages are just not "in" at this time.  :-\
