locked door and frustrated! lexi1012: so I just came back last night from being away for 3 weeks. My husband moved his personal belongings out before I got back. I told him ahead of time that he has no right to take anything else. He did some cleaning in the basement and moved some things in the garage. He made a point to have me come look in the garage, but I didn't really pay attention to what was there. Then today I try to get in the garage from the basement and he locked the door from the other side. I don't know if he is hiding something or thinks I will damage his precious car inside. Whatever, I don't think he has a right to lock me out of a garage in my own home. I will ask him to open it and if he doesn't I will get a locksmith. I don't think he has a right to do that. The fact that he did stuff while I was away just makes me feel so helpless. yes, he could have taken things and didn't, but maybe I have yet to discover that.
Re: locked door and frustrated! dgiirl: Tell him it's a fire hazard and that you want the keys right now. Otherwise you're getting a lock smith and sending the bill to him.
Re: locked door and frustrated! sourpuss: yep - he can't lock you out. you can't lock him out, either.
i wouldn't even call him, i'd just call a locksmith.
Re: locked door and frustrated! My_farm: use the attic access inside the house and go in the attic and down in the garage attic access.
