Older Guy is right -- the raw pain fades.
What I know is that even if the relationship you're leaving or being forced to leave was painful and dysfunctional or just painful, it still hurts to have THAT be finished.
The gym and poker with the guys sounds really healthy to me... establish a good pattern.
