court date inebr: How did you all deal with coordinating with your stbx and the court date? In Nebraska, it is voluntary for the other party to show up. He told me when he got the letter stating the date and that it was voluntary on his part to appear. But I haven't asked him if he is going or not. I guess it doesn't matter. And I'm afraid to ask that if I do he'll read something into it when all I really want is for him to do whatever he thinks is the best thing for him to do ...which, given how he's dealt with everything else, is to not show up - path of least resistance.
I guess it's not really an issue. I just have these mental pictures of him showing up at the last moment looking at me and saying it isn't the right thing to do and then me faltering becasue I never wanted to do this in the first place and feeling like we got our second chance.... And then the divorce gets called off and we walk out the courtroom door and he walks to his car and tells me to call him sometime if I want. ??? That would be so typical.
