That said, the men I'm currently attracted to would likely NOT be thought of as attractive by the majority of women.
The guy I'm most attracted to is likely emotionally unavailable (remains to be seen; I'm not emotionally attached to him at the moment so it doesn't matter -- yet) but the physical attraction is electric. Yet most would not look twice at him...

Re: Physical Attraction bjs2005: Hahaha. It's been proven that men base first attraction on physical appearance and women see more of the whole package when they look at a man. IE: Does he look like he has a job? Is it a good job? What kind of man is he? Coule he be a good (whatever) provider?
If we had everyone on this board answer honestly, you'd see the trend.
Personally, I see the overall body shape, then I evaluate the individual parts, then I look at the clothes. Upon closer inspection I look for grooming habits and nice teeth. If you have rotted out teeth or they are the color of butter, it's over right there. On first glance, I am shallow Hal, you betcha. I cannot fight nature.
Re: Physical Attraction sparks: I think its the whole package. I was not physically attracted to my stbx at first but we worked together and had a lot of the same friends. We started hanging out together and I found that we got along great. At the time I could not imagine it being anything other than friends. As we came to know each other I found myself more attracted to him and I fell in love. Now, 13 years later and a divorce, I still find myself attracted to him even though hes turned into an alien.

I will definitely agree, however, that physical attraction isn't just based on physical attraction. If I find a guy annoying, stupid or disrespectful, I won't be physically attracted to him no matter what he looks like.
On the other hand, he could have the most incredible personality ever, but if there isn't at least some purely physical standard being met, it just isn't going to happen.
Personality goes a long way... but it certainly doesn't go *all* the way.
