Re: Dumb Question starzluv: divorce is a matter of public record, all you have to do is call and ask if he did. they will ask for name and social security # yours or his it doesn't matter. that's what i had to do. one minute my H was saying he filed and the next he said he was thinking about it, and then it was he was going to. i don't think he ever really intends to file, he still keeps talking about things maybe working out for us. he didn't file. found out later (which i still don't think he knows) that he has to wait at least 3 months before he can even file. i think it's 3 it might be 6

Re: Dumb Question getting_rough: I am not sure if it is the same everywhere but if you do not know the others address you can apply to have it put in the paper in the area that you THINK they live. That way both parties will know what is going on. THat is what I almost had to do before I found out my stbx ended up in jail. I jsut served him there
