South Dakota is a real place half full: Ok,so the population of the entire state is under one million,that doesn't make it any less real.
People don't ride in covered wagons,Native Americans here don't live in teepees.We have running water and electricity and highways and interstates and cars and planes and hospitals and notional parks.It is real people.
It is smack dab in the middle of North America.
Heck a few famous people have actually come from here.
Adam Vinitari of the 2 time Super Bowl winning New England Patriots home town is Rapid City,which is in SD and is also where I live.
Tom Brokaw is a SD native.
Ok so those are the only two famous people I can think of ,but they are from SD,and... famous.
Oh yeah.Mount Rushmore right here in the Black Hills,which is the oldest mountain range in the US.
Not every one here is a complete hic either...OK,most are at least half hic,but not complete.
Ther are many wonderful things here in SD,like me for instance.So just in case someone else reads my profile and sees I'm from south Dakota,you will know it is a genuine,real,not made up part of the US. ;D Dave

yep, went to rushmore many many years ago on a family vacation......if you can call driving from pa to co and back a vacation.........but anyway.......
mt. rushmore. how to describe it? it was 4 faces carved on a rock, with a gift shop. it was boring. at least, for a probably pre-teenish girl, it was boring. i might get more of a kick out of it now. but then? b-o-r-i-n-g.
beautiful part of the country though. i will admit that.
