STUDENT LOANS- HELP?!? Suddenly Single: I am trying to go back to school to get a master's degree in order for me to be able to be more marketable in my job hunt.....I know NOTHING about student loans....
does anyone know of a good bank to go to? or the best way to get a student loan?
Thanks, SS
Re: STUDENT LOANS- HELP?!? tyrogers: Ask the college. They will help you. You have to do nothing but fill out some forms! ;) They will apply for grants and loans for you.

Re: STUDENT LOANS- HELP?!? Mooneyes: I consider myself a veritible expert in Student loans. Your school will help you get them. However especially for graduate school you want to see if you can get someone else to pay expenses first. You can get this by getting assistantships (which pay money and tuition). Sometimes there are scholarships for graduate school. Sometimes your employer will pay for your classes. You are not eligible for financial aid unless you are taking a full load (6 hours a week usually for grad school).
Beware though.. I used student loans to get through grad school and now I am wishing I had done more to avoid them. Get through with the smallest amount of debt possible. However sometimes it is worth it, because you can make more after school than before.
Good luck to you!
Re: STUDENT LOANS- HELP?!? Suddenly Single: Thanks guys! So basically it sounds like I contact the school and get their forms and go from there huh? I got some forms from the bank...but 7% interest seemed like a lot!
Thanks...SS
Re: STUDENT LOANS- HELP?!? alonewith2: You can always consolidate with a lower interest rate later on, too!!
