Re: Purple Hair Smiley17: I love purple, but I can see why this might not exactly work. I use Loreal Preference for Dark Blonde hair. Maybe that will help?

Other than that, I have no idea!
Re: Purple Hair Shanna: <--------totally clueless....always been red or brown for me....

Good luck  :D

Re: Purple Hair sourpuss: my friend did that once with 2 shades of blonde from different manufacturers & it came out green.  something to do with incompatible chemicals.

call the 1-800 number on the box.  if you try to do another colour, you may just make it worse....

or you could just go with the purple and if any of your interviewers ask, grab your hair and scream "what!?  purple?!  oh my gawd, when the f*ck did this happen!?...".  it's all attitude, baby.
Re: Purple Hair in_search_of: Lovely, and this is why I stick to just dying it a solid color if I do it myself, though judging by the way that my hair looks, well, ummmm.....welll...it needs some color but I think that I will stay away from purple.

But I would try the 800 number as well!
Re: Purple Hair timetobefree: LOL, ISO, that is what I was trying to do...dye it one solid color. Hmph, that failed miserably. Should have stuck with the blonde highlights.  ::)

Anyhow, I called the 1-800 number and they told me the purple is temporary. Those "color" molecules stick better to the blond than the rest of the color, which is why I got the purple. I am supposed to wash my hair 2x/day with a strong, cheap shampoo, like a dandruff shampoo. It should fade soon. Then when it is back to blonde, I can call back and they will give me a "recipe" to fix that color. Although I wouldn't mind these blond highlights, if they become blonde again.

I asked her if I could just do a dark brown over the whole thing, and she said NO....it would make the purple permanent and much brighter. So thanks for telling me to call, everyone, because otherwise I might have permanently purple hair.

Thanks for all the laughs and advice. I think I will bite the bullet soon and pay to have it professionally done. I would just let it go natural, but my hair is so light and absorbent that it constantly looks like I have dark roots...I hate it. The new hair that has not been blown dry and in the sun is so much darker than the ends...it looks awful!

Anyhow, thanks again! This is why I love ojar!
