Re: Global Warming? alonewith2: That was an interesting view on things....Thanks for posting!

Re: Global Warming? half full: Now if I read that right, global warming is responsible for drought and record snow fall?
In my opinion global warming is garbage science.Drought conditions have been around alot longer than industrialisation has.
It has been proven that the planet is warming at a very slow rate, and there is evidence that this has been for hundreds of years. It has nothing to do with what we humans have done to precious fragile mother earth.
The air we breathe and the water we drink and the cars we drive are cleaner than they have ever been.
It is nothing more than fear mongering, don't lose any sleep over it.
Re: Global Warming? Smiley17: I don't completely agree with it either. It's just more panic that we don't need. I posted it to show that whenever something this major happens, it's blamed on global warming, something that's too far off to really change.

These things just happen. They're awful, and scary, but they happen.  :-\
Re: Global Warming? genesplicer: I think the whole global warming phenomenon has gotten blown way out of proportion.  Over the extremely long term history of the planet we've gone full circle with the environmental conditions, so yea it's probably going to happen again.

But to say it is responsible for every normally occuring weather event that happens because the severity may (or really may not be) out of line with the norm isn't a fair assessment.

FWIW, I had a college professor that had some interesting research on my golbal warming wasn't very scientific at all, had to do with the surface area of the ocean and bubbles.  Granted, he was getting a little crazy.    ::)
