In my opinion global warming is garbage science.

The air we breathe and the water we drink and the cars we drive are cleaner than they have ever been.

It is nothing more than fear mongering, don't lose any sleep over it.

"Global Warming" is a popularized mis-nomer.  It's more like: Human-assisted Global climate change.

Garbage science?  I'd love to hear your arguing points that actually back that statement up, but none of yours did, from a "logical", "scientific", "rationale" point of view, that is.

Point of fact, the water we drink and the air we breathe have NEVER been dirtier than they are!  Unless you go back to the time when large meteors struck the planet.

I think the whole global warming phenomenon has gotten blown way out of proportion.  Over the extremely long term history of the planet we've gone full circle with the environmental conditions, so yea it's probably going to happen again.
[/quote">

Really?  And you can cite this, right?  I mean, prove it.  If you're saying that you are willing to buck COMMONLY AND WIDELY ACCEPTED SCIENCE, then I'd like to see cited proof.

FWIW, I had a college professor that had some interesting research on my golbal warming wasn't very scientific at all, had to do with the surface area of the ocean and bubbles.  Granted, he was getting a little crazy.    ::)

FWIW, this is an incomplete sentence, and makes no sense.  So you had a college professor... was he an English prof.  Did you go to the Citadel?  These are important details...

Maybe you'd be interested in some ACTUAL research... from the US govt. no less!

I guess my only question for you, or anyone who is so dismissive, is this:  what is your motivation for discrediting accepted science?

Um... maybe in North America the cars are cleaner running but there is a helvalot of 2nd & 3rd world countries that are running Leaded fuel in thier cars, that do not have emmisions control or clean air programs.  & I like to think I live in one of the cleanest & best cities NorAm has to offer but I still won't drink out of the tap like I used to do when I was a kid.

We may have almost finished our industrial revolution & most of Europe too... but many cities in Asia & South America have not... & trust me, there are far more people there then there ever was in the original revolutions here.  Then you have all the various power plants around the world & the various pulp mills, refining centres & so on.  Go to your local city's industrial area & count how many smoke stacks there are... think about how long they have been there & that they run 5 - 6 days a week all year long.  Look at how many people are on the roads driving SUV's, trucks & vans, Deisel dumptrucks & big rigs, all single occupant to boot.  So even though many new cars in NorAm are emmissions tested, there are more cars on the road then there have ever been, so working it out in my oh so scientific way; fewer cars + poor emmissions = more cars + good emmissions.  I mean Mexico was still making the original VW bug back in '98 when the new one was introduced, can you immagine what other vehicles they were mass producing?

Anyway, food for thought, "Global Warming" maybe a stupid name for it but it's apt & you can think of it as garbage science but it's a term coined so that the unwashed masses, scientific illiterates can understand.
