Re: To be friends or not? Mart: We are still "friends". I agree that trust is a factor in a friendship, and I don't totally trust him now. A friend would not have hurt me and done what my ex did to me. But we are still "friends"... whatever that means...
I think the recovery might be easier if you are not friends. I just cannot stop being "friends" with my ex.

Can you still be friends when he starts dating other people and wants to tell you about it? That's one thought I know I cant handle until i'm recovered. So until then, no contact. Besides, there's a difference between being friendly and being a friend.

dgiirl - This says ALOT. It's easy to forget sometimes that there really is a huge difference, especially when dealing with someone you love. You want to be friendly (goes back to the whole being civil idea), but you don't have to be friends.
