By the way Bubba...how do you get your little one to eat the veggies??

Well, truth be told, I have to give that credit to my ex-wife. She read to get them hooked on veggies when they switched to solids before giving them any fruit or anything sweet. Up here you get 1 year for maturnity leave, so she would make her own baby food with fresh veggies she grew in the garden. He never got anything sweet for a very long time. So, those early eating habits stuck with him, and he loves his corn, peas, broccoli, potatos, carrots, etc. Now, I have to admit, my issue is trying to get him to drink milk. Ever since I stopped giving him a bottle, he barely drinks any milk. Drives me nuts.

I find it is mothers whom are the bane to single fathers. Many seem to think a single father is to mentally handicapped to possibly be able to take care of his child!
Re: GGggrrrr..people that DONT have kids... Suddenly Single: I think I might be one of those "know it alls" with no kids. I'm not pushy in my opinions but I do have them. Part of the reason is I'm a teacher so I deal with hundreds a day...and the other reason is that I pay attention and learn from my family and friends who have children. Usually my opinion stems from my own experience or something I learned from another parent.
I feel guilty about it sometimes but I always want to help people!
But something as funny as eating more veggies will alleviate kids getting colds? HA ! That is funny.
Re: GGggrrrr..people that DONT have kids... Shanna: I didn't read everyones posts, but I would like to add my vent to the list.
I have a delayed child that can be VERY difficult sometimes. I have had so many dirty looks thrown my way bc I won't just pick him up during a tantrum or whatever.
That being said....there was a lady at McDonalds the other day and her daughter was having a tantrum and she was really stressed that she was going to upset us bc her daughter was crying. I just told her "everyone in here has kids and I am sure none of them have skipped the tantrum stage. She isn't bothering me." those weren't my exact words, but I could tell she felt comforted knowing she wasn't the only one.
I have also had people jump on my case bc I accept that my son is delayed and I am working to fix it. They say stuff like there's nothing wrong with that boy. I know there is....UGH....get me started. ::)
